Session 8 : Interview/Journalism

In the last lesson we prepared questions in advance for the interview for this lesson, which was about fashion journalism. A career in fashion journalism is not just about writing about clothes, fashion journalism will involve researching and writing about the latest fashion trends, styles, stories, conversations, movements and influences then getting this information by working with stylists, interviewing fashion designers, attending fashion shows, taking photos and events etc. This time we will be interviewing students around us to complete this fashion journalism. However, as I am not a native English speaker, I was initially frustrated by the grammatical errors, lack of precise finishing and piling up of phrases in my writing. I believe that fashion journalism provides a great theoretical and practical opportunity for current journalism and media practitioners to interact with people from different areas of the fashion industry in depth while creating visual stories about fashion. It also allows me to use traditional and new media, and a variety of platforms to explore and disseminate content, so I want to strengthen my English writing skills more next, as it will not only help me write fashion journalism, but English writing is important in any aspect.
