Session 9 : Digital collage

Today’s session is about trying out digital collage, using images taken over the last few weeks and manipulating and editing as many images as possible in today’s session. Images can add value to a brand, create an atmosphere or attitude towards a product or brand and can also convey a visual message and can be used in advertising and promotions, PR, editorials, articles, magazines, visual merchandising, packaging etc. I started by selecting a set of photographs I took in Southbank and overlaying them with filters and effects to create visual illusions that give people a new way of looking at things. Juxtaposing images, geometric lines, nature and architecture, these images were edited in Photoshop and I used computer software instead of scissors and glue and gave them the possibility to ‘organise the chaos’. I made three collages in this lesson and I will continue to use my time to complete the next assignments.
